When you log into Destiny 2, you should receive a popup message that reads Signal Intercepted, pointing towards a Golden Age research station on Mars. This quest won’t take very long to complete and you’ll want to make sure you have an Exotic Cypher space free in your inventory before you go, but it’s a nice tribute nevertheless.
Destiny 2: Signal Intercepted - How to complete the Memories of Helsom quest
To get started, land at the Braytech Futurescape zone and head into the main building. Turn left at the Clovis Bray Exoscience sign, sticking to the left and going through Door 9. Keep going until you enter Aurora Reach, turning right and heading into the next building. Follow the path until you reach the small computer room filled with Thrall enemies. There should be a short tunnel at the back of the room, so head inside.
Once you’re out of the tunnel, turn right and go through the newly opened door. There should be a workstation with a red keyboard and a sticky note that reads “Hot Dog!”. You’ll know you’re in the right place when the Investigate prompt pops up besides a little keypad, so interact with it then report back to Ana. She’ll say some nice words about Helsom before giving you an Exotic Cypher, which you can use to get old Exotics from the Cryptarch or to buy one from Xur. You can only have one Cypher per account, so make sure you’ve used your old one up or dismantle it in your inventory, or use a different account.
