The first bi-monthly developer video for Humankind dropped today, and it covers why Amplitude wanted to make the game and what they hope to achieve with it. In it, you will also see some new gameplay footage, and interviews with studio head and creative director Romain de Waubert and narrative director Jeff Spock. You will also hear from other members of the team. The next video will cover the terrain with a look at the game’s different biomes, elevations and more. Announced at gamescom 2019, a previous video gave us a look at the avatar system. The system allows you to create your own avatar as you journey through time to see how your civilization will evolve from pre-history onwards. In the game, your avatar will evolve visually according to the way you play, the achievements you earn, and the way you develop your cultures and your civilizations. Leveling up your leader through the progression system will allow you to unlock custom looks and more that you can show off in multiplayer matches with up to eight players.
