Both companies had previously discussed the possibility of dismissal of the suit but could not reach an agreement. But now, there seems to have been an agreement inked. Details on the settlement were not disclosed but according to Gamasutra, both parties have jointly filed to have the case dismissed “within 30 days of the settlement agreement.” Back In January, Crytek wanted to have its case against Cloud Imperium dismissed until Star Citizen spin-off Squadron 42 was released. Later that month, Cloud Imperium hit back at Crytek over its motion to dismiss its own lawsuit, saying the firm could “no longer delay the inevitable reckoning that its claim is and has always been meritless.” Squadron 42 was initially set for release in 2016, before it was delayed with a tentative 2017 release target. Star Citizen developer Cloud Imperium is now planning a beta for the second half of 2020.
